2.) Phone number to the police municipality that generated the police report.

Will the iPad Mini be distributed with its own protective case or are students responsible for purchasing one?
Students will be provided ruggedized protective cases for their iPads.  The students will be asked not to remove their iPads from these cases so there will be no need for them to purchase their own.

May my child use their own personal iPad in school instead of the one issued by the school?
No, for network and security purposes, district management is required.

May students take the iPad home?
Yes, students should take their iPads home not only for school work but also to charge their iPad.

Will students keep the devices during breaks?

My student is a senior. Can he purchase the device at the end of the year?

What do I do if my iPad is damaged or stolen?
It is your responsibility to make sure a potential claim is reported to Ladue School District. A school representative will submit all claims to Worth Ave. Group. Please make sure you do the following:
  • If the device is damaged, please report this as soon as possible and provide as much information as possible regarding how the unit was damaged.
  • If the device has been stolen, or damaged due to vandalism, please report this as soon as possible. A police report will need to be filed and a copy of the police report will need to be given to a school representative.
Does the insurance also cover accessories such as the charger and cable?
The insurance does not cover accessories, only the iPad itself.  Students will be responsible for replacing a lost or damaged charging cable and/or power adapter.

Will my child use the iPad in every course?
The iPad will be the student’s tool to use at school. Our teachers will each have their own ways of effectively utilizing the iPad in their discipline's curriculum.  As always, the content will create the need for the tool.  It's extremely valuable for our students to now have ubiquitous and consistent access to educational resources when needed.

What if a student forgets to bring the iPad to school?
If students fail to bring their device to school, they are responsible for completing any applicable course work as though they had their device with them.

How will you manage the devices?
We will be utilizing a mobile device management suite called Filewave. It allows us to register each student’s device to our server, so we can control the settings of the device, apply rules, remotely lock/wipe and send software updates. We are also setting age restrictions on the types of apps and music that can be placed on the device.

Will my child’s Internet traffic be filtered?
Yes.  Whether students are on or off school premises, all student Internet traffic will be logged and filtered through the District's content filter.
